I have worked in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) business for over 20 years, managing a number of sales teams and national accounts. In this results-based industry I have always been a very driven individual who has been successful at achieving my set goals whilst having a passion for helping others to be the best they can be.
I have always had a love of sport – both playing and watching – and of being on the stage. I enjoy new challenges, including the one that kickstarted my coaching journey back in 2013.
I saw an advert for a sponsored cycle and – after 30 years without a bike! – I signed up to travel from London to Paris. It was 300 miles.
Here I learnt about setting a clear goal, having a plan to follow and achieving milestone results along the way. After 4 months of training I cycled into Paris on 18 August as part of a team that raised £30,000.
I latterly began to adhere to this ‘GOAL’ technique when tackling a number of subsequent challenges, including further charity work, personal fitness, career progression and graduating with an ILM level 5 qualification in coaching and mentoring.
